Philadelphia Veterans Parade Organizer Earns Recognition
August 10, 2016 – Steve Phillabaum, currently serving on the PVP Board of Directors recently earned the distinction as one of this year’s Veterans of Influence awarded by the Philadelphia Business Journal.
A Naval Academy graduate who deployed twice to the North Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Steve believes strongly that Veterans need to help other Veterans. Additionally, he currently serves as the Chairman of a rehabilitative transitional home, The Philadelphia Veterans Group and takes time to speak at schools to emphasize that “Character Does Matter”; a program run by the Travis Manion Foundation.
Steve is very familiar with the Philadelphia area as he graduated from North Penn High School and earned his Master’s Degree from St. Joseph University focusing on marketing and business management. Steve follows a path that allows him to enjoy his job while hoping to help those who needed it the most.
“I am humbled to be recognized as a Veteran who is making a difference, Steve stated.
It is a duty to support our fellow Veterans. The ‘If not me, then who?…’ mission strongly carries on within our Veteran community.”
This year’s parade is on Nov. 6th and culminates with a Veterans Festival at the end (open to everyone). For complete details, sponsorship information and to see a list of organizations already schedule to appear check out www.phillyveteransparade.org.
